What E201 means on a Samsung
The outdoor unit sees a different number of indoor units than it was set up for.
On this platform, E201 is a fault: something has failed or is disconnected and needs diagnosis.
Common causes
- An indoor unit not powered or not communicating.
- A wiring fault to one zone.
- The outdoor unit's indoor-count setting wrong.
How to fix it yourself

- Confirm every indoor unit has power.
- Check the interconnect wiring to each zone.
- Reset the system: switch the breaker (or the outdoor disconnect) off, wait a full five minutes so the boards fully discharge, then switch it back on and restart from the remote.
Switch off power at the breaker before opening either unit. Capacitors in the outdoor unit hold a charge for several minutes after power is cut.

Where Samsung shows this code
The indoor display shows E followed by three digits (E101, E554). Units without a full display blink the indicator lamps in a pattern the manual decodes; the outdoor board's 7-segment display or LEDs show the same code. E1xx codes are indoor-unit faults, E2xx are communication faults, E4xx are outdoor sensors, protections and inverter faults, and E5xx are outdoor board and refrigerant faults.

Can I reset a Samsung E201 code myself?
Yes. Turn the system off at the breaker for five minutes, then restart it. If E201 comes back, the fault is real and needs the checks above.
Is it safe to keep running a Samsung showing E201?
