Day & Night mini split error codes

Day & Night ductless systems come from ICP (Carrier's sister company) and have used two makers. The current DLC/DLF series (DLCSRA, DLCSRB, DLFSHA and related) is Midea-built and uses the Midea code set. The earlier DLC4 / DLF4 series (2013 to 2015) is Gree-built and uses the Gree set, so E1, E5 and F1 mean different things on the two generations.

Covers: DLCSRA / DLCSRB / DLCLRA outdoor with DLFSHA / DLFSFA indoor (2015 and later), DLC4 / DLF4 (2013 to 2015).

Type it exactly as the unit shows it. Not sure which brand? It is printed on the front of the indoor unit.

How Day & Night shows error codes

DLC/DLF series, 2015 and later (Midea-built): The code appears on the indoor unit's LED display in place of the set temperature. Some models also blink the indicator lamps in a pattern that matches the code. E codes are faults in the indoor unit or its communication link, F codes are faults on the outdoor side, and P codes are protections: the outdoor unit has stopped itself to prevent damage. EC is the refrigerant leak check.

DLC4 / DLF4 series, 2013 to 2015 (Gree-built): The code shows on the indoor unit's display in place of the temperature. If the display is off, press the Light button on the remote. Some models also count out the code as indicator blinks. E codes are system protections and faults, F codes are mostly sensor faults, H codes are outdoor and compressor protections, U codes are motor and valve faults, and P codes are power-supply faults.
